Wire: high grade nickel-chromium and copper-nickel alloy resistance wires used in the heaviest guages possible.

Marking: type, value, wattage, date permanently marked.

Ceramics: highest quality ceramic tubes and cores withstanding thermal shock and impervious to moisture.

Brackets: spring loaded, push in type phos.bronze for easy mounting. Type "L" brackets with integral centering washer pre-assembled to resistors using thru-bolts and mica insulating washers.

Winding: uniform spacing and tension heavy windings that handle overloads without burnout.

Termination: high tensile strength, heat resistant terminals insure strong core attachment. Securely clamped around the ceramic and welded or riveted. Wire is crimped and welded and/or soldered using high temperature solder. Terminals are then cleaned/processed for easy soldering.

Note: 300+ Watts are only available in low-resistance values, longer lead times apply.

Tubular Power Wirewound Resistors are available in:

  FIXED
  RIBBED
  ADJUSTABLE

Commonly used in dc and ac low frequency circuits where appreciable power need be dissipated. Designed to meet the most demanding mechanical and electrical requirements. Rated at 350°c when suspended horizontally in free air. Cured at low temperatures therefore able to use heavier wire - increasing the transfer of heat from the interior of the resistor to the terminal, reducing hot spot temperature, dissipating overloads quicker and keeping the resistor cooler with increased reliability resulting in greater stability and longer life.
